Our Client is a thriving Banking and Finance related publishing house based in the City. They require a Web Design Manager based in London and managing a team on site as well as in New York. You will be responsible for leading the design of the 150 websites within the company's portfolio. This is a hands-on role requiring strong and proven B2B design ability, and experience in team management of 5 designers. Essential is to have at least 5 years high level experience, predominantly in a digital environment although some exposure to design and production for print would be useful. Technical skills would include; Experience in the digital creative process; Deep technical understanding of front end web development and hands-on development of CSS or HTML. Ideally Flex/Flash/Ajax, Strong typographic and layout experience, Understanding of brand guidelines and their digital implementation, JavaScript, WAI accessibility, Usability concepts, Browser compatibility issues, W3C standards, Experience of cross-browser and cross-platform issues, Photoshop/Illustrator, Awareness of WCAG, WAI and SEO awareness, Flash (and Actionscript). They strive to maintain a reputation for superbly designed business publications and this role will include; content management, web and front end design (HTML) All user interface design and coding associated with this teams activities (within a dotNet environment) as well as training and some support. Ensuring accurate weekly and monthly reporting of costs and progress to the Head Of Development. They operate in an agency-style environment and combine the fast-pace and variety of a digital agency with the team spirit and product ownership of inter-company work. This is a great opportunity in an expanding department for a very confident and talented designer/developer with experience of directing projects who has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
