Team Description & Purpose of Role

Our clients Security Operations Center is responsible for managing customer facing security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection, web content filtering, e-mail filtering, DDOS protection and secure VPNs.

Job Responsibilties

• Installation, configuration, management and monitoring of the clients CheckPoint, Cisco ASA/PIX and WatchGuard Firewalls. 

• Installation, configuration, management and monitoring of IPS/IDS. 

• Deployment and development of the clients Security Products, supporting sales staff and customers. 

• Perform occasional “out of hours” maintenance on security products. 

• Perform SOC on-call duties (1 week in 5). 

• Maintain accurate documentation and records of customer systems and trouble tickets. 

• Other duties as required by Line Manager. 

Experience Required

• Excellent knowledge of network technologies, TCP/IP, NAT, IPSEC. 

• Strong skills in SourceFire IPS and CheckPoint installations, configurations and operations. 

• Min.1 years experience working with Firewall products like CheckPoint or Cisco ASA/PIX. 

• Intermediate knowledge of Load Balancers (F5 & Riverbed). 

• IDS/IPS products, particularly Sourcefire & ISS Site Protector, sound installation understanding and alert management. 

• Cisco Router IPSEC configuration and troubleshooting. 

• Knowledge of Web and mail filtering technologies 

• Foundational knowledge of Network Security including security threats, Crypto and SSL technologies 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level in a technical field of study. 

• CCSE, ISS SP6, CCSP, CCNA, CISSP, SANS, certifications or equivalent experience. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Fluent English language skills are essential. 

• Additional French or German language skills would be a distinct advantage

• Ability to work in a team, with little supervision and using own initiative. 

• Flexible approach; able to work under pressure and occasional extended hours. 

• Required to participate in an on-call rotation.
